The Heaven’s Declare
The Solar System
Life
Life abounds all around us. Everywhere we look on earth there is life. The earth is filled with ecosystems that thrive with astounding variety and beauty. This life was designed and created by God and the earth was created as its home. Consider even the deserts and ice fields. Those places on the earth that are as inhospitable as they are beautiful. But even the most desolate regions are teeming with living things. It is not as if there is some life on the earth. If you were to go outside and turn over a rock or move back some leaves there would be thousand of creatures teeming there. Some you can see, but thousands more you can’t because they are so small.
Mankind has set his sights elsewhere in our universe in search of this incomprehensible rarity. In that search… they have uncovered astonishing beauty, but no other living thing. It seems that this privilege is reserved for earth alone.
God created this planet to be inhabited….this pale blue dot is the focus of God’s attention and favor.
Spaceship Earth
Man has been successful leaving the boundaries of the earth. He has crafted vehicles that produce an enormous amount of thrust…. lofting him an incredible speeds through the protective layers of the atmosphere. These vehicles shield him from a most certain death.
He must carry with him all the life sustaining materials to keep him alive for the time he is there. He has built amazing structures in space to house him in this un-livable environment.
However when we look at the atmosphere of the earth we see an intricately designed network of gases that contain the right gases in the right proportions to sustain life. You may at any time, walk outside and feel the warm sun on your face and take in a deep breath of life giving oxygen without fear that it will not be there or the fear that you may get burned by the rays of the sun. In space it is not this way. The rays from the sun would give you severe burns without the protective visor in the space helmet and you would freeze almost instantly without the insulation of the space suit as well as you would not be able to breath with the oxygen provided inside the pressurized airtight seals of the this portable environment. An environment that suits you needs as a creature.
The temperature in space is very cold even near the sun. The radiation from the sun would however, heat up objects that retain the energy put into them by the rays from the sun. So objects themselves would become warmer, but the shadow behind the object would be very cold. The average temperature in space is 2.725 Kelvin, which translates to minus 270 degrees Celsius or minus 455 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact the temperature in space is extremely even and never varies by more than one- thousandth of a degree, from one place to another.
There is no air in space. It is essentially a vacuum, which means that there is nothing there or that it is empty. There are particles and gases but they are very widely distributed. and in between these particles and atoms of gases it space. Inside the atmosphere of the earth there no vacuum unless it has been created in a laboratory by removing everything such as oxygen carbon dioxide etc. and leaving nothing the a vacuum is created. But inside the atmosphere there id always something whether is be oxygen hydrogen helium or water, there is always something.
The earth’s atmosphere also filters out the harmful rays from the sun. Each layer of the atmosphere does a specific job. The layers of the earth’s atmosphere are: the Magnetosphere the Exosphere, the Thermosphere, the Mesosphere, the Stratosphere and the Troposphere. Without any one of these layers life on earth would cease to exist.
This is the house that was designed by God to inhabit life; an unfathomably complex spaceship to house his creatures.
Greater Light and Lesser Light
Scripture says that on day four of creation week…God made two great lights…a greater light to rule the day…our sun... an enormous power plant with the gravitational pull needed to cause earth’s orbit…and a lesser light to rule the night...our moon….that would control the tides of the oceans.
“Greater Light”
We find that this greater light that God created is an integral part of the overall tapestry of life He has woven. Every living thing is dependent upon its particular characteristics. Its size and distance have been determined perfectly to sustain life on the Earth. Also its output gives just the right amount of warmth and the spectrum of its light are perfectly matched to the needs of life. The White light of the sun has a luminosity that peaks in the color green. Chlorophyll in the leaves of green plants absorbs all colors except green which is reflected back to our eyes then we perceive the green color. Still the sun gives off a variety of colors which we see around us reflected back in stunning beauty.
Astronomers have scanned the universe and particularly our home galaxy the milky- way in search of stars that have planets orbiting them. Many have been found. But they are far too distant to be seen even with large telescopes, and all we have to rely upon is the artist’s impression. Astronomers have also searched the universe for stars that are like our sun and have found that there are no sun-like stars out there. They have found stars that are similar in size, and the type of radiation and light they emit, but these stars are very unstable, with massive bursts and flares.
The outbursts of energy from these stars would not make them stable enough to be conducive to life.
In recent decades scientists have searched the solar system for signs of life…specifically for liquid water and organic molecules. Why do they search? And more still…..Has anything been found?
“Lesser Light”
It is in our nature to explore, and as we do, we begin to see the uniqueness of our home on earth, when we compare the abundance of life here with other moons and planets. Throughout history we have looked up at our night sky and have wondered what it may be like on the moon. All kinds of imaginations have seen many strange things on its face. Galileo himself saw the dark areas on its face and proposed that they may be vast seas. We know now that the moon is barren a wasteland….a place that is extreme in every way… a place that is incapable of sustaining life.
Though the moon itself is incapable of sustaining life, it plays a very important role in life on earth. The gravitational pull from the moon is one factor that causes the 21 degree tilt of the earth which gives us our seasons. Deciduous trees and shrubs loose their leaves when the hemisphere they are in tilts away from the sun. They drop their seeds and replenish for the next season. This fall and winter season also gives the ground itself a chance to rest and for the debris deposited to compost into nitrogen for the following spring.
The moon also controls the tides of the oceans which is needful for life in the ocean and the ecosystems around its edges.
Distances
As we consider what is out there in the far reaches of space, the one thing that is immediately apparent… after its sheer beauty… is the vast distances. But how do we know how far the distance is to an object in space? God has given the sun and the moon to us that we may use them as a sort of measuring stick. If we consider that the apparent size of the moon is exactly the apparent size of the Sun the we can understand the distance to the sun. If we were to have the privilege of viewing a total solar eclipse we would see that the disc of the moon exactly covers the disc of the sun. Now we can calculate the distance using trigonometry. Aristarchus of Samos also known as Copernicus, used a trigonometry formula based on a lunar eclipse to calculate the distance. The shadow of the earth across the moo’s surface provided crucial information to guide his calculations.
We know now that the Earth is 150 million kilometers or 93 million miles from the Sun. This distance is what astronomers call 1 astronomical unit. This is the distance astronomers use to measure closer objects such as planets in our solar system. For example: Jupiter is 5.2 Astronomical units from the sun or 5.2 times the distance from the earth to the sun.
The Planets
So let’s look at each of the planets and consider their distances so we may better understand the vastness of the scale of the universe, as well as the uniqueness of our God created home.
In 1609 Galileo Galilei an Italian mathematician and astronomer, made vast improvements to the refracting telescope and pointed it at the night sky. Previously, it had been thought that the milky way was nothing more than a cloud in space...however, through his telescope.. Galileo saw millions of individual stars. He also saw various other very bright objects with odd motions through the night sky as though they were not bound by the same motions as everything else. He noticed Jupiter had moons, and observed Venus and saw that it had phases much like those of our moon. This led him to believe that Copernicus was correct in his theory that the earth rotated around the sun. His mathematical calculations predicted that the earth actually rotated around the sun , as well as did the planets.
Up until this time the dominant theory was that the sun orbited the earth, commonly known to scientists as geocentrism. Ptolemy introduced this theory to account for the “motion” of the sun. The observed motions of the sun during the changes in seasons were explained by epicycles or smaller circular rotations as it orbited Earth. Which would explain the reason the sun was closer in certain phases of the epicycle and further away at other times.
For 1400 years this theory had dominated. However, when the movement of certain objects were discovered not to fit the model other epicycles had to be added. Over its 1400 year life, the Ptolemaic model became as flexible as any scientist wanted it to be. If he found a discrepancy, he merely added another epicycle, much like evolutionary scientists do today. However Galileo’s discoveries changed the way men looked at the skies, and their desire to explore...to see closer...was kindled to find better ways of observation. Ground based telescopes were improved upon, growing larger and larger over the years.
Today many spacecraft have explored the solar system. The information sent back revealed a system more diverse than anyone had ever imagined.
Mercury
In early November of 1973 NASA strapped Mariner 10 atop an Atlas Centaur rocket and launched what was to be the last of the Mariner probes and in February of 1974 it did its first fly by of the rocky planet Mercury.
The first planet and the one closest to the sun is Mercury.... Located only 36 million miles from the Sun, Mercury is small, less than half the size of earth, at a diameter of a little over 3000 miles.
Because it is so close to the Sun, its average temperature would be a sweltering 950 degrees F on the sunlit side... and a subarctic minus 346 degrees at night, which doesn’t come very often because it only makes 1 rotation every 59 Earth days. Also because of its close proximity to the most massive object in the solar system, the sun, it has been heavily bombarded by many objects attracted by the sun’s gravitational pull. It surface has been pummeled to dust so it is heavily cratered much like that of our moon.
Its crust is made up of mostly metals and silicates which are continually baked and then re-frozen in a continual process as it orbits the sun every 88 Earth days.
Little was known of the small iron and silicate planet, still for many years scientists knew about and debated its eccentric orbit. Many theories were devised to account for the odd way it orbited our sun. It had what Physicist call a perturbation. In other words, the orbit itself was being influenced by something to cause it to “wobble” around the sun, much like that of a top that, when spun wobbles in relationship to the way it was placed on the surface in which it spins.
Something must have caused or even now is causing this perturbation. Isaac Newton’s mechanics failed to explain this eccentric wobbling so scientist looked further into this problem.
A discovery was made in 1846. The first discovery based solely on mathematical calculations that another planet must be out there. A similar wobble was discovered in the Planet Uranus, and it was hypothesized that another planet must be effecting its orbit with its own gravitational pull. Based on the work of Alexis Bouvard which showed the perturbations of the this planet, two men; Urbain Le Verrier and Johan Galle set forth to find this hidden planet. In 1846 the discovery was published as the first discovery of a planet using mathematical calculations. Later observations proved they were right.
However, a few years later Verrier set his sites on Mercury. He hypothesized that the same thing must be causing the perturbations in its orbit: another planet. It was theorized that this planet must be orbiting the sun on the opposite side, staying (most of the time) just out of viewing range of the earth. Galvanized by a purported sighting of the elusive planet by a French amateur astronomer named Lescarbault, Verrier announced on January 2, 1860 the discovery of the planet Vulcan, though one of his witness had not been corroborated. after the announcement, stories began pouring into Verrier of sightings of the “new planet” all of which were proven unreliable.
Still Verrier continued promote this discovery until his death in 1877. With its greatest proponent gone Vulcan soon lost its luster as scientists and astronomers began to doubt that it ever existed, and was soon a non issue in the astronomical community.
Though the issue of Vulcan was largely dismissed, the wobble in Mercury’s orbit remained unexplained. Why did it orbit in such a way? What caused this wobble? In 1915 Albert Eienstein introduced his field equations which precisely predicted the perturbation in the orbit of the small, heavily cratered planet. The movement had to do with an extra set of terms that involved the space time curvature. More about that in another video and curriculum.Problem Areas
Evolutionary theory is much like the Ptolemaic system in that is relies on certain, metaphorically speaking, “epicycles” to explain and keep this theory intact. Or like Verrier it believes that there are unseen forces at work..... dark energy or dark matter.... Both of which they believe are needed to explain their theory. We will see some of these often used speculations all of which have no foundation in fact nor observational data.
According to evolutionary theory all of the inner planets should be much alike. For example: They should all be of the same relative size. They are not. They should spin the same direction. All but Venus and Uranus do. So you must explain Venus and Uranus.
Since Mercury should be (according to their theory) the same relative size as Earth, then they must invoke one of their most favorite tools.....The “Magic Planet” Need to reduce the size of an object, or reverse its spin? A large planet sized object will always do the trick.
According to national Geographic.) “An asteroid collided with the “still forming” Mercury some 4.5 billion years ago, sending chunks of the planet hurtling through space, scientists say.
"You always try to prove an idea wrong. This work shows it could have happened in this way,'' said astronomer Jonti Horner, who will present his results tomorrow at a Royal Astronomical Society meeting in Leicester, England.
Why do evolutionists go to such extremes in explaining the size of Mercury? What evidence is there that this collisions actually took place? One answer is because their model demands it, otherwise it would reduce the credibility of their theory. Evolutionist have theorized that the magnetic fields found ironically on some planets and not others, are produced by the molten metal in the core. They call this the “Dynamo” Since supposedly the surface of Mercury is the core, because its crust had been knocked away by some solar object, and it is obviously not molten, then it should not have a magnetic field. But it does, a very strong field in fact. So to accommodate this discrepancy, evolutionist posed another theory that said that instead of having an iron core its core is made of iron sulfide....a substance that cannot exist close to the sun according to their own model.
The same fallacy is found when explaining Mercury’s speed of orbit. Standard secular theory says that as the dust coalesced together over millions of years it eventually formed the planets or planetesimals. The sweeping, circular motion caused by the gravitational (Tidal) pull of the sun would have spun this disc of dust into what would have appeared as a large whirlpool of dust. Then the particles would stick together and form small “gravitational eddies” in this whirlpool. Physics tells us that all of these eddies should spin the same direction and actually those small eddies closer to the center would rotate faster and in the same direction. However, when we look at Mercury, we find that it only rotates once every 59 Earth days... Just the opposite of what evolutionary theory predicts.
Venus
The second planet and next in line from the Sun is the Planet Venus. Its year is 225 Earth days and only makes 1 revolution on its axis per year or more precisely every 243 days. Venus is virtually the same size as Earth and often called “Earth’s twin at 7,519 miles across. But that is the only similarity between the two. Venus has a very thick carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid atmosphere which creates a greenhouse effect on steroids. The temperature during the day can reach upward to 864 degrees F at the surface, which makes its temperature hotter than that of Mercury, even though it is twice the distance from the Sun at 67 million miles.
The swirling eddies mentioned earlier, would have exhibit what scientist call a prograde rotation. In other words, when you look down on an object, from the perspective of earth’s northern pole, forming objects should spin with a counter clockwise rotation. At least they should all spin in the same direction. But no so with Venus. It spins exactly the opposite.
Once again evolutionist evoke the catastrophic collision of the magic planet to prop up their theory. They say at some point a planet sized object must have crashed into Venus early in its formation and reversed its spin.
The surface of Venus is reasonably crater-less. It does have craters but these are sparsely distributed fairly evenly across the surface. This would seem to indicate a recent “flipping” or re-surfacing of most of the planet. This massive re-surfacing would indicate runaway tectonics on a global scale..... something which secular scientist deny.. could have ever happened on the earth. Most other hard surface bodies in the solar system are fairly heavily cratered with one notable exception....a moon of Jupiter named Io which also has shown signs of extreme volcanic activity. Another interesting point about the craters that are on the surface of Venus is the fact that they are apparently young. The texture has not been worn down by the erosion forces that exist there. The edges are still well defined which is a hallmark of a new crater and incidentally points to a young age.
The atmospheric pressure caused by the density of gasses would be in comparison to being submerged in the ocean over 3000 feet deep. Because of this immense heat and pressure, the crust is most likely the consistency of plastic which would cause one to question: “Then how do the mountains stand?” Why don’t they sink or melt into the molten sub-surface? Some of these mountains compare in height with earth’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest.
One such mountain is called Maat mons which reaches more than 5 miles from the mean surface of the Planet.
Evolutionists have speculated that, after the dust had coalesced together, there must have been a long period of cooling that must have taken place to solidify the surfaces of the planets. Gradual accretion demands a molten core, because there has not been enough time for the cooling process to occur with in the time frame of evolutionary models. The molten cores are allegedly the remnants of the of this long history. When we look closer at Venus and consider the great heat and pressure applied to its surface, this heat and pressure would inhibit cooling in the alleged molten core. If the core was molten and the surface is so hot that it actually melts lead, the subsurface should have never cooled, therefore, the mountains should not be there, because they should sink in the highly elastic crust. With that in mind, creationists have determined that the core must have cooled soon after creation and the subsurface is relatively solid which in turn holds up the mountain ranges.
Unlike the smaller Mercury It has exhibited no magnetic field, yet secular scientists insist on a molten core. It must be molten to fit their theory of the gradual accretion of planetesimals.
Earth
The next Planet from the Sun and the most important is Earth. It is a unique planet in that it contains life. It is designed perfectly to sustain life. But not just any life...It is inhabited by those whom God Himself created in His own image....Man.... It is our home... and is designed so that most of the time, we can see out into space and we are made to be aware of the universe. It is because of this awareness that we can intelligently discuss this subject in the first place. Which is why we will study the Earth in a separate program.
Mars
So onward past home and to the next planet and fourth from the Sun; Mars. It is known as the “red planet” this rust color is due to just that....rust. Iron on its surface has oxidized and formed a fine, powdered layer of rust.
Mars is the only inner or solid surface planet besides the earth to have moons. Mars has two. Phobos and Deimos. Both moons are small. Phobos is the larger of the two moons at only 17 miles long and 13 miles across.
At about one half the size of the earth or 4,194 miles across to be exact, Mars is one of the smaller bodies in our solar system. Yet it has generated huge speculation in the scientific community. Though its atmosphere is made up of mostly carbon dioxide and its night time temperatures can reach a frigid 300 degrees below zero, the secular science community has spent billions of dollars searching this frozen planet for signs of life. Specifically their search has been for water. At 142 million miles from the sun, even the carbon dioxide laden polar ice caps are frozen solid., so the water they are looking for is not necessarily liquid.
Still, a liquid of some sort (perhaps water) has flowed across the surface and gouged out deep ravines.... some many times the size of our own Grand canyon. One in particular is the massive 4 mile deep canyon known as Valles Marineris. At 2,485 miles long and 124 miles wide, it is the largest known canyon in the solar system. It would stretch across the continent of Europe. There are many such large canyons found on the surface which were cause by a global or near global flood at some point in the red planet’s 6000 year history. Where this liquid came from remains a scientific mystery, still the evidence is there that it did indeed cut these massive canyons and in a short period of time.... and again...something secular scientist deny could have ever happened on the Earth which is now covered with water over 75% of its surface.
Another feature on the surface of Mars is Olympus Mons. Standing nearly 17 miles above the mean surface, this giant volcano is the tallest mountain found in our solar system so far. It is about 3 times as high as Mount Everest. At its base it is as large as the state of Missouri, at 342 miles. There are six large pit craters around the caldera region that expands outward around 53 miles.
When Olympus Mons was volcanically active, it must have belched out enormous amounts of water vapor as seen in the evidence of liquid erosion and high water marks all around the planet. This could account for some of the water that flooded the planet. Possibly other sources were available as well. Sources such a water ice in the form of comets that crashed into Mars shortly after creation some 4-5 thousand years ago.
On August 7 1996 NASA released this press release..... “METEORITE YIELDS EVIDENCE OF PRIMITIVE LIFE ON EARLY MARS”. The meteorite, called ALH84001, was found in 1984 in Allan Hills ice field, Antarctica, by an annual expedition of the National Science Foundation's Antarctic Meteorite Program. This sample was compared to that of atmospheric samples taken by the Viking lander and it was determined that its chemistry indicated that it had been in an atmosphere like that of Mars.
The theory is that a large comet must have smashed the surface of Mars and scattered debris into space, some of which, entered the Earth’s atmosphere and landed in the Antarctic.
The seemingly insignificant piece of igneous rock drew quite a stir when it was announced that it contained fossils of microbial deposits. These were allegedly remnants of certain molecular compounds like that left by bacteria on Earth. Not the bacteria its self but the chemical traces it leaves behind. The fanfare soon dwindled when it was pointed out that there were many a-biological ways that this same substance could have been produced. These same compounds called PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) are commonly found commonly in many asteroids and are not considered to be life remnants or precursors.
Jupiter
Now we go out past the inner rocky planets to a distance of 5.2 times the distance from the Earth to the sun or 483.4 million miles (778 million Km) from the sun, to the Jovian gas giant, Jupiter. At 11 times the diameter of the Earth this is the largest planet in the solar system. At last count this massive ball of gas is orbited by 63 satellites, some of which are larger than our moon.
The surface is a stunning mixture of color brought about by perpetual whiling clouds of dust, hydrogen, helium, and several other gases. These bands of gas and dust create massively intense storms that churn constantly across the surface. The famed Great Red spot is the largest of these massive storms and at nearly forty thousand kilometers wide it would swallow the entire Earth.
This giant planet has a massive gravitational pull. Any object caught in its gravitational clutches is sure to become part of the family or more still, swallowed up altogether.
The 4 largest moons of Jupiter have for many years interested scientist in the belief that they may contain liquid water and therefore in evolutionary thought…life. Io was singled out for this speculative honor. After a variety of explores reached the moon it was quickly discovered that this highly volcanic satellite could not really be a suitable place for life. A fly by of NASA’s new horizons spacecraft, found two large volcanoes spewing what is believed to be sulfur dioxide far above the moon’s surface. One in particular, Tvashtar (Vash-tar) spewed this deadly substance some 300 kilometers (186 miles) into space, giving us an idea what it is like on the surface of this lethal, uninhabitable moon.
Astrobiologists believe that to find life, you need to look for water.
In 1995 the Galileo spacecraft arrived at Jupiter and began its survey of this giant planet and its moons. The moon Europa was surveyed extensively and some interesting discoveries were made. Strange formations were seen on the surface, winding back and forth as if they were carved out by some random force. Several hypotheses have been proposed that the surface is actually a thick layer of ice and underneath is a vast deep ocean. While the debate continues about the sub-surface of Europa, having never landed a craft upon its face…. scientist even today still debate… and are unsure….about what is underneath the surface of the Earth.
In 1968 Stanley Kubrick and Author C. Clarke released their newly written 2001 A Space Odyssey. The film captured the imagination of an entire nation. The beginning of the film has scenes in which chimpanzee like creatures battle back and forth for supremacy. Throughout the film theses creatures seem to become more and more advanced until one type of the most advanced creatures win out over the rest. These scenes carry with them, the predominate evolutionary thought of the time and the same thought which persists even more so today. Finally, as if expected, the moon Europa is found to be inhabited by life. This shows how even science fiction is woven into space exploration. Evolutionists believe that is life arose spontaneously on the Earth the it must have arisen elsewhere on some distant planet or moon.
Saturn
Now we travel further out over 1 thousand four hundred twenty seven million kilometers (887 million miles) or around 9 and one half times the distance that the earth is from the sun, to the strange and most beautiful Saturn. The actual sphere of the planet is 10 times the diameter of Earth, not including its beautiful rings which are made of billions of tiny ice crystals. Like Jupiter, its atmosphere is made up of a perpetual cloud cover of hydrogen and helium gas. Saturn actually radiates 2 and one half times more heat than it receives from the sun, and though some scientists believe the cause is slow gravitational compression, most will readily admit that this mechanism is not enough to account for the massive amount of heat generated.
In 2006 the Cassini spacecraft flew over the North Pole region of the ringed planet and photographed what appears to be a massive hurricane like storm surrounded by a strange hexagonal cloud structure. This structure has baffled scientists and though some hexagonal structures have been recreated in buckets from a lab in Denmark, no known cause has been assigned to this strange feature.
On July 1 2004, the probes Cassini / Huygens, in a joint effort by NASA and the European Space agency, reached Saturn’s moon Titan and immediately went to work. The orbiter Cassini began to map the surface of the small, cold moon, and by Christmas of the same year the Huygens probe separated from the orbiter.
Because the atmosphere was found to be nitrogen rich, an alleged prerequisite for life, Astrobiologists considered Titan to be a prime candidate for life, though the temperature on the surface of the small moon averages minus 179 degrees Celsius or minus 290 degrees Fahrenheit. This condition is compounded by a thick layer of an anti-greenhouse gas which actually reflects what small amount of light the cold moon receives.
On January, 14 2005 Huygens (pronounced Hi-oy-gens) touched down on the desolate surface of this barren, rocky moon.
Before the Huygens descent, the orbiter snapped many pictures of the surface of Titan. It was discovered that the moon actually had what appeared to be various sized seas strewn about on its surface. These seas are thought to be made of liquid ethane or liquid methane which to be in this liquid state must be a temperature of minus 298 degrees F (which is its melting point) and minus 260 degrees F (which is its boiling point). (-183 C and 161 C)
There is no known microbial life or any other known life that can live under these conditions.
Uranus
Now we speed away from the planet Saturn to next planet in the Jovian system, out to one thousand seven hundred eighty four million miles (2870 million kilometers) or 19.2 Astronomical units from the sun to the beautiful blue gas giant, Uranus. At this vast distance the amount of light from the sun that reaches this planet is about 400 times less than that which reaches earth, so Uranus is a very dark and cold planet. Very little is known about the surface of this blue giant, but scientists believe that the atmosphere is made up of predominately hydrogen, helium and methane. This gas giant is approximately thirty-two thousand miles across, which would make eight times the diameter of the Earth.
Like Venus this planet spins in another direction than predicted by standard planetary formation theories. It actually rotates on its side nearly 90 degrees off the expected axis. Again the collision by a massive object theory is evoked. There is absolutely no evidence that this gas giant has ever had a collision with any other object.
The temperature is fairly even across the surface at a chilly 353 degrees F below zero (-214 degrees Centigrade) which would mean that even the methane in its atmosphere would be cloud like ice crystals.
This beautiful blue orb has to date eleven rings that though are less pronounced than those of Saturn still add a majestic appearance to this azure wonder in the deep reaches of our created solar system.
Though it is beautiful, it is barren. Even of its 27 known satellites, none have been seriously selected a possible candidates to house life.
Neptune
Away we speed from Uranus to a distance of 30 Astronomical units to the planet Neptune. This distance from the previous planet Uranus is more than the distance than Uranus is its self from the sun. So in one segment we have traveled more distance than we have since we began this journey.
Neptune is considered the edge of our solar system. Pluto, which has recently been downgraded to a dwarf planet, actually passes inside Neptune’s orbit path once every orbital period. The tiny planet stays inside Neptune’s orbit for 20 years, making Neptune the outermost planet for that 20 year time of the orbital cycle, which takes about 164 Earth years. It was discovered a little over 150 years ago which means that it has not made even one orbit since its discovery. Its diameter is some thirty thousand miles.
The atmosphere is thought to be made up methane, hydrogen and helium. The higher concentration of methane and other substances is thought to give Neptune its more vivid blue color. The winds on the planet have been measure as the highest in the solar system measured at nearly a thousand miles per hour.
To date scientists believe Neptune has 13 satellites. The largest of which is Triton, which is a little over three quarters the size of our moon.
Trans Neptune (Out of the solar System)
In August and September of 1977 NASA launched two voyager spacecraft and sent them on their way to explore our solar system. During the fly-bys of various planets, they brought us a greater understanding of our solar system. Now, 31 years later the probes have traveled around 105 Astronomical units and are essentially leaving our solar system.
These two probes were not only fitted with various technical instruments to study differing planets and regions of space, but they were also fitted with communications from Earth. These communications were designed to have the ability to be understood by any intelligent life the probe might allegedly encounter.
Now as these probes head out of our solar system they are at a distance of over 10 billion miles (16.5 billion kilometers) or 110 times the distance from the earth to the sun. They have reached the point where materials such as gas and dust ejected from the sun begin to collide with the interstellar medium. This solar wind blows throughout our solar system until it hits a kind of barrier called the heliopause.
Soon these two probes will leave this region and for the first time enter the region of interstellar space, a place outside the effects of the heliosphere.
The interesting features such as pictures, math symbols and recordings added to the voyager 1 and 2 spacecrafts show that the prevailing thought in scientific exploration is that there is intelligent life out there. Their underlying assumption is that if life arose spontaneously on Earth, then it must have also arisen spontaneously on some other distant planet or moon.
At a distance of 4 billion miles (6 billion kilometers), Voyager turned back towards Earth and snapped a photo that is one of the most famous of all photos taken from space. Made so, by evolutionary champion Carl Sagan when he referred to earth as a pale blue dot essentially nothing compared to the universe its self. As we have seen and should see even at this vast distance there is something very special nestled deep in those light rays.
So we have seen the glory of God revealed to us in this created solar system. The beauty is awe inspiring. This creative power of God, in which He had no template, no design to copy, all originated from His mind. His ways are truly higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. As the heavens are higher than the earth, His ways are higher than our ways, and thoughts higher than our thoughts.
This brings into mind the words of the psalmist who asked; who is man that you are mindful of him? But still, He is mindful, and this pale blue dot is the focus of His attention and His favor.
